The Bidirectional MIL-STD-188A / MIL-STD-114A / Fibre Optic Adapter converts MIL-STD-188A / MIL-STD-114A signals to optical fiber compatible light signals and vice versa. This unit supports 2 and 4 wire EIA-485 applications. The EIA-422-A/EIA-485 port is protected by transient voltage suppressors. Build in balanced resistors can be used for line termination, the required configuration of balanced resistors is jumpers selectable. This unit is powered by internal power supply. Full or half duplex asynchronous data transmission can be achieved long distance with out use of the repeaters. The EIA-422-A/EIA-485 port can interface up to 10 multi-dropped EIA-422-A receiver inputs and up to 32 multi-dropped EIA-485 receiver input without use of the repeater. In data boosting mode the EIA-422-A/EIA-485 port can interface up to 20 multi-dropped EIA-422-A receiver inputs. The unit contains Fiber Optic repeater circuit. This unit can be used for Fiber Optic data line monitoring . In multipoint communication the incoming data will trigger the converter transmitters, and generating control signals . When used in pairs, these units also function as Fiber Optic or EIA-485 repeater/line isolator . When the rack version is used these converters can be mixed in the some rack with EIA-232/EIA-422-A/EIA-485, MIL-188-C, MIL-188-114A and current loop converters, to provide multiplexing/concentrator function . This product is fully design, build and supported in Australia .
